One of my hobbies is to make photos of animals. On this website you will find a selection of spider photos I have made.

Please note: it is almost impossible, to make a positive identification of a tarantula by its colour/pattern or from an image only. I have labelled these photos by my best knowledge, but I am sure that some species might be missIDed. Also scientific names are in a constant change. I try to give my best to keep the names updated. If you find any wrong scientific name, any other error, dead links or if you have suggestions to improve this website, please send me an e-mail.

Please respect the copyright of the photos! If you like to use my photos for any reason, e-mail me first to ask permission. Reproduction or copying of any material on this website is not permitted without explicit permission. I also have higher resolution versions of most photos available if needed.

There are some photos of handling tarantulas. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HANDLING TARANTU-LAS. Some species have "hot" venom. See also the bite reports on Tomm Schumm's website: link #1, link #2. If you do handle tarantulas, do so at your own risk and do not think that because I or others on the photos do that it is safe to do so.
